Yoga For Vitality and Resilience

This is a gentle Viniyoga class with emphasis on connecting with and developing your core, improving balance and flexibility. The class also focuses on diaphragmatic functional breathing techniques to calm the nervous system, improve blood flow and oxygenate the tissues. All postures offer therapeutic adaptations to meet students where they are.

 

Viniyoga – All Levels

This is a gentle yoga class connecting mind, body and spirit. The intent of the practice is to still the mind and improve flexibility while building strength. This is done by marrying movement with the breath. All postures offer therapeutic adaptations to meet students where they are.

 

Chair Yoga for MS, Parkinson’s and Other Neurological Conditions

This class incorporates core strengthening, proprioceptive awareness, and balance to aid with ambulation and daily function. Gloria has found that avoiding over-exertion is key. By creatively adapting postures and interspersing breath and meditation breaks throughout the movement sequence, the effect is both stimulating and soothing for the nervous system. Together we move. We breathe. We heal! All levels of mobility are welcome!

 

Therapeutic Yoga in the Viniyoga Tradition

Starr has specialized training in therapeutic yoga, with the ability to address a multitude of conditions using adaptations and adjustments for a safe practice, which promotes health and well-being for the  body, mind, and heart.

The classes are carefully sequenced  using the Viniyoga traditions to promote healing and recovery from a variety of conditions including low back pain, neck and shoulder pain, breathing pattern disorders,  insomnia, burnout and compassion fatigue.

Starr also uses sound therapy, meditation, breathing and mindfulness techniques for relaxation, and to improve stamina, vitality, and resilience.
